Born in Singapore, Gerard Low graduated in Trading, Bank and Finance at the University of New South Wales, Sydney Australia. After many years in Singapore’s civil service, Gerard decided to start a new challenge. He attended the Penn State University Ice Cream Short Course in the United States, where he remembers fondly the gelato made by Gelato Chef Matteo Casone (Iceteam 1927) with an Effe 6. His perception of gelato changed forever.
In 2018, Gerard opened “Dal Cuore” together with his wife in Shanghai, China. He offers to his clients a diversified collection of local Asian flavours and Italian classics. Dal Cuore signs the Shanghai Scallion Noodle gelato flavour and the “Oatly Earth”, developed for the Earth Day ‘s 50º anniversary to increase awareness of global warming. The award-winning gelato shop has caught the attention of many and classified 14th among the 50 best Asian gelato shops in 2019 (Big 7 Media)
